PRACTICAL SESSION.
First of all, we did warm up activities:


-Give me five: We had to run over the gym and when the teacher said give me five we had to give five with the most people that we could. And the teacher was changing the erxercise. We had to high fives, low five, behind back fives etc. 






-Warming in a line: We had to divide the class in small groups of four or five people and we had to follow a person who was the leader and repeat all the exercise that she or he did. 








- Stretching exercises and warm-up the joints: In te same group, each member had to choose a stretching exercise and the rest of the group had to repet it. For example, I remember that I chose to stretch the abductors. 






Later, we did different games which did not promote the physical activity.

-Steal de bacon:  The class has to divide into two groups. Each person of the group has a number starting from 1 to the maximum number of people that are. The teams are face to face and one person is in the middle with the bacon. This person has to say aloud a number and people with that number must run to catch the bacon and return to his team, but the other person does not take the bacon can go behind the person wearing the bacon and try to catch him or her. The winner is the team who has most points getting the bacon. 


-Relay race: There are two teams. One person from each team has to run carrying something in this hand from side to side the gym and when you finish the path and he or she has to pass the object to other person who is waiting in a row. The winner is the team who finish first the path. 


- Duck, duck, goose:  The whole class has to sit in a circle. A person  has to go standing touching each person's head saying duck, duck and when touch someone saying goose she or he must  tries to catch to the other person while he or she runs out of the circle to get to sit in the position of the person who is the goose.

When we finished these games we were talking about that this games do not promote physical activity because sometimes the most people are not doing nothing only waiting or sitting down. So, as a teacher we have to do activities that promote physical activity. Where all the people move. 
Moreover, we were talking about these kinds of games where someone was eliminated. So, we talked about how we can change these situations with children. And also each of us has to invent a game with these rules. 

OPINION
I think that the acticity give me five is very useful for us as a future teachers in order to make participated and funny activities and also It is good for students because they have to pay attention to the rest of the class. Moreover, I believe that this activity is going to like very much from students. 
Furtheremore, the activity to follow the leader is good because students enjoy it. It is useful to students because they have to imitate the exercise of other person and they have to pay attention and also It promotes imagination in order to do differente exercise.  
About the activities "Steal the bacon", "Relay race"and "Duck duck goose". I belive that students really like them. But the teacher has to know that this activity promote competition between them and she or he has to control it. Also these kinds of activities do not promote exercise in all the students because there are some students who do not do anything. So the teacher can change the activity or explain them the kind of activity that is. 


Monday,October 15th, 2012.

THEORICAL SESSION. 
Today, we continued with the Lesson 1. We were talked about the aerobic which is an activity that you do everyday. It is important to improve the endurance.

We also talked about the educative value of Physical Education in Primary. Moreover, we were talked about why is important to do exercise and we watched a video. I have found another video which is very motivated and appear some good sportsman and sportswoman. 

We did another activity. The activity 2
This activity is about concepts realted to Physical Education. We did the activity in pairs.
We had to read the concepts and many definitions and we had to choose a concept and his correct definition. In total, we had 14 concepts like Sport, Exercise, Cool down, Physical fitness.

Examples . Sport: a type of activity that is usually planned, structured, and governed by a set of rules or customes, and often engaged in competitively.








Nonlocomotor skills: Movement of the body performed from a relatively stabe base of support. Examples include bending, strething, twisting, turning, leaning, swaying and swinging.              





We corrected this activity with the whole class in order to say our opinions. And listened different opinions.

OPINION
I think that this activity is very useful in order to introduce the subject because we have to know some concepts related to PE to follow better the subject. It is important to know what is sport, physical education, the child etc. Besides, I agree with what we were talking about the importance of doing exercise because It is important to be a healthy person and to be physical active. I think that everybody can do a minimum exercise per day.

Wednesday, October 10th, 2012.

This was the first PRACTICAL SESSION.
Firt of all we explored the gym and the materials that were there.


We did warm up activities like Locomotor exercises: Run/Jog around all the gym.  Run on tiptoe. Knees high.Heels up.Shuffle. Carioca. Jogging with arm circles.






Later we did warm-up the joints like ankle roll, knee roll, hip roll etc.








Also, we did stretching exercises like Shoulder pull. Pectorals stretch.Arm reach-out. Triceps stretch. Side bends. Forward lunge. Hamstring. Cuadriceps.




After these exercise we played with the parachute. 





We made different exercises:
- The big mushroom.
-The wave: ans ball roll.
-Running numbers: there are people with odd numbers and there are people with even number. So the teacher say a number and they have to run to the site of the odd number or even number.
-Run under:We say different characteristics of the people and the people who have it have to run. For example the people who are boys. And boys have to run under the parachute. 
-Popcorn game: we made two teams and the team who take off the balls win.
-Center ball : two teams; try to shake the opponent’s ball into the center pocket.
-Ball shake: two teams.
-Cat and mouse:All the people are sitting and one is the cat who is  above the parachute. And other person is the mouse who is under the parachute. So, the cat has to catch to the mouse.


OPINION
I think that all of these activities the warm-up, stretching exercise and the activity with the parachute are good for us as a teachers because we can use them in a future class with our students.

Monday, October 8th, 2012.

Today, we started with the Lesson 1: Physical Education, basic concepts and educative value in primary education. 
I think that in this lesson is very important to know the objectives like differentiate key concepts related to PE. To know what are the specific characteristics of a PE teacher. 
First of all, it is impotant to know that Physical Education is formed by Education and by the human movement (movement of the body).  In PE there are some domains like motor, affective, cognitive and social.
Furtheremore, a PE teacher has to have competency in motor skills, participates in physical activities. He or she has to be a healthy person because she or he are going to teach why is important to be a healthy person and how someone can achive it. 
From other part, the physical activity that children should do per day is 60 minutes. 
In order to teach PE you have to know thinks like the types of learning, types of activities that chidren have to do, the characteristics of the spaces, the organization of the group and the materials.

 We had to think about our personal experience in PE. We had to follow some phrases like I feel goog in PE when....

Moreover, we put in pairs and we talked with the other person abour how was our experience.
These reflexions led to another activity. We had to say positive things and negative things about our experience in PE. And these thing were written in the black board.


Positive.                                                                                         

-In primary school is fun, and improve the group cohesion.             
-There are many activities which are variet.
-There are personal goals.








Negative. 
-In secondary School.
-There are theory part and this implies to do an exam.
-There are not motivation.                                                                     
-There are social comparation between students.           
-There are sport test. 





Moreover, we did a discussion about PE. We came to the conclusion the most important aspect in teaching PE is to inculcate in children the importance to be a healthy person. For this reason the have to do sports.





 But the problem in Secondary School is that teachers used sport test only to evaluate the students. And this is a big problem because they are not motivated and at the end they are going to hate the subject. Which was my case. So, FUN is one of the key of Physical Education. Because children feel confortable if they enjoy the activity. Positive experience means to be an active person in the future. 





Wednesday, October 3rd, 2012: Presentation teacher



Today we did the presentation of the class. Because it was the first time that we had this class.
The teacher gived us the subject synopsis in which appeared the things of this subject. For example, the duration, requeriments, objectives, competences, assessment etc.

Later ,we saw a presentation about how the class is going to be. First of all, we had to present ourselves saying our name, age and nationality how was our experience in the first course, if we have any experience teaching physical activities, and our hobbies. 
Moreover, we saw the lesson, the methodology of the class and some bibliography which is very useful.

OPINION.
I think that the subject synopsis is very useful for us as students because we have to know what we have to do in order to pass de subject and also to do not feel lose.
In the first link you can see some objectives that I complitely agree:
-Understand the principles of PE.
-To know the curricular components. / It is very important because all the teachers have to know the curricular components in order to make a class, evaluate students etc.
-To know the different blocks in Primary Education. / It is also important because as a teacher we have to know and understand the block that students must follow during the Primary Education.


Moreover, there are competences:
-To know the social and educational dimension of interaction with peers and to know how to promote participation, cooperative work and individual responsability. / For me this competence is neccesary to teachers because they have to inculcate in children responsabililty, cooperation, participation in groups´ work and also children have to be responsibles in his own. 
Besides, an other competence says that we as a students have to design teacher strategies to the curriculum.
Another competene which is necessary in this subject is to value the significance of physical activity in the proffesional practice. Because I think that the PE teacher has to be a physical active person in order to teach students to be an active person.



Moreover, I think that the presentation of us is good because the teacher has to know how where are, our hobbies, experice in PE in order to do the class better. As a teachers the presentation is useful and also it is a funny activity where children can express different things. 


Furtheremore, about the methodology of the class I think that it will be good. Because We are going to have presentations of the teacher that we are going to discuss later. And also we have activities and workshop related to the Lesson. Besides, we are going to analize, create and desing physical activities which are very useful for us as a future teachers.

Presentation

Hello, my name is Blanca Monzón. I am studying Primary Education in English. I am in the MBL group.


This is going to be like a portfolio of the subject Physical Education and teaching.






I have decided to do the portfolio in a technological way because I can add different types or resources like photos, videos or whatever.
I think that the blog is going to help me in order to gather or the materials, lessons, and things that we learn in class. Also I know that the blog is a kind of diary because we have to add new information about what we talk or do in class everyday.
